Test Sieve is an instrument which is used for the measurement of particle size. In its most common form, it consists of a woven wire screen with square apertures rigidly mounted in a shallow, cylindrical, metal frame. For coarse sieving, a perforated plate screen with square or round holes is used in place of a wire mesh. Particle sizes measured by test sieving, may be specified simply by quoting the size of two screens – one through which the particles pass through and the other one in which they are retained.
Test Sieves have a highly polished spun brass frame, without any joint. Phosphor bronze/ brass/stainless steel sieve cloth is used and smoothly finished. The seal between the frame and the sieving medium is so formed, as to prevent and is equally taut in all directions, without any distortion of the cloth.
